Our Lovely Fabrics

BAMBOO
Our Bamboo fabric is extremely buttery-soft; like a cloud you can live in. At the same time, the Bamboo plant is a rapidly renewable and biodegradable resource. It is a low-maintenance crop, that requires no chemicals during cultivation.
• Sourcing: As an OEKO-TEX-Certified material and Global Organic Textile Standard-Certified (GOTS), our bamboo ensures the highest standards of safety and is free from harmful substances and chemicals which does not harm the environment or the people involved in its production. Every component of the product, from the fabric to the thread and accessories, has been rigorously tested against a list of up to 350 toxic chemicals.
• Feel: Incredibly soft, lightweight, silky and highly breathable, and cool to wear in summer.
• Properties: Durable, high elasticity, absolve and releases moisture very quickly, UV resistant, anti-bacterial and fungal resistant due to the bio-agent “bamboo kun”, hypoallergenic, wrinkle resistant, Anti-static, biodegradable.
• Washing Instructions: Machine wash cold, gentle cycle, mild detergent, and air dry. Do not bleach, and do not tumble dry to high temperature.
NETTLE
Our Nettle fabric is extremely soft and seemingly fragile, but softens even more and gains strength with washing and age. We have always liked to describe it as an “after-sun cream” to be worn after long exposure to the sun. A fiber that is “alive” and a perfect fit for all the seasons.
• Sourcing: Our 100% Nettle is OEKO-TEX-Certified and Global Organic Textile Standard-Certified (GOTS). It is also known as “Ramie”. It is one of the oldest fibers cultivated for textiles. It is also one of the strongest natural plant fibers. Naturally off-white in color and with silk-like luster, we decide to not put any color or bleaching on. But wash after wash, it will become more optic-white.
• Feel: Soft, highly breathable, present on the skin like a protection.
• Properties: 100% biodegradable, strength increases when washed, it absorbs and releases moisture faster than cotton, anti-bacterial and mold resistant.
• Washing Instructions: Handmade wash cold, mild detergent, and air dry the clothes flat and not hanging (recommend a white cotton towel underneath). Do not bleach, and do not tumble dry.
ECO-CASHMERE
100% Eco-Cashmere, a yarn available exclusively from FreakLèChic and in limited quantities. Extremely buttery and naturally soft. Zero chemical products on it, unbleached and undyed. For a nobly soft, extremely warm, and completely natural final product, in full respect of our skin, animals, and nature.
• Sourcing: Our Eco-Cashmere comes from specimens that live in small groups in the wild and therefore have limited production. Cashmere then, contrary to what is often thought, is not obtained by shearing like wool, but by combing, only once a year, in spring, that is, when the animal naturally loses its hair as the hot season approaches. OEKO-TEX-Certified.
• Feel: Buttery-soft and extremely fine, it doesn't sting like wool, but it's a cuddle for the skin. It retains warmth better than any other fiber, hypoallergenic.
• Washing Instructions: Dry clean or hand wash with cool water, mild detergent, and air dry flat and not hanging (recommended a white cotton towel underneath). Do not bleach, and do not tumble dry.
From the personal experience of Alessia (Designer and Founder of FreakLèChic): Bring the garment to the dry cleaners once a month (if worn for more than 2 weeks every other day, because it will be difficult to take it off). This will allow the garment to last over time so much that it can be one of those pieces that will always be in your wardrobe.
LUNA
Organic Cotton, Nettle, and Silk composition. 100% Biodegradable. It is an extremely robust natural fabric with a soft feel on the skin. It is particularly breathable and supports natural skin function.
• Sourcing: Traditional Italian fabric made on a loom. The result of centuries-old craft skills successfully merged with modern industrial growth. The pattern is not a print but an embroidery: this allows us to decrease the chemical impact both for our skin and for our planet. This fabric is OEKO-TEX Certified and Global Organic Textile Standard Certified (GOTS).
• Feel: Luna becomes softer when you wear it so if you feel it tight at first, move inside and it will take your shape to the fullest making you feel comfortable, practical, and super chic.
• Properties: Lightweight, durable, breathable, and wearable all year round, releases moisture very quickly, zero elasticity, anti-static, and biodegradable.
• Washing Instructions: If you love ironing, you can wash it at home by hand, with a delicate cold detergent. It needs to be ironed at high temperatures to get it nice and smooth again. Otherwise, we recommend bring it to the laundry and have the professional follow the instructions that you will find in the material composition inside the garment. By doing so it is one of our materials that will last longer time in your wardrobe.
BIO-BASED POLYAMIDE
We are so proud to Introduce a new cutting-edge sustainable fabric made from EVO®, a yarn made from castor, a not-for-feeding plant that can grow spontaneously.
• Sourcing: Made from the bio-based raw material of castor seeds, a totally renewable resource, which generally grows in arid areas not intended for agriculture and which therefore does not require high amounts of water nor subtract arable land for food uses, this fabric is a sustainable and innovative alternative to conventional polyamide. 100% petroleum-free. The biopolymer at the base of EVO® has no repercussions on the human and animal food chain. EVO® is certified DIN CERTCO System and by the OEKO-TEX STD 100 CLASS I System
• Feel: Comfortable, and soft, it gives a feeling of protection and containment.
. Technical performance: Thermal Isolation, Odour Control, Extra Rapid Drying, 4-Way Super-stretch and Comfortable, Lightweight. Excellent performance at no cost to the environment!
• Washing Instructions: Machine wash cold (30° max 40°), normal cycle, do not bleach, do not tumble dry, mild detergent, and air dry.
